About

Julia Astier-Bigot

Founding Partner. Member of the Paris Bar.

“A lawyer must be a trusted partner to the economic actors she advises, with a comprehensive understanding of the issues affecting them in a constantly evolving regulatory environment, in order to provide the most relevant and effective advice.”

Professional background

Julia Astier-Bigot began her career in the Finance department of Clifford Chance Europe LLP, as a lawyer in the Structured Finance & Capital Markets team. She advised leading French and international clients, including lenders, borrowers, arrangers and listed and unlisted corporates, on strategically significant domestic and cross-border transactions, with a particular focus on securitisation and financing transactions such as syndicated loans, real estate finance, asset finance, project finance, acquisition finance and structured finance.

She then joined AXA Investment Managers as Senior Legal Adviser for the Structured Finance Division (SFD), where she structured and raised investment funds. She later became Head of Regulated Products and Structuring within the global legal department of AXA IM Real Assets (formerly AXA Real Estate, whose activities are now integrated into BNP Paribas Asset Management), where she contributed to the launch and development of the debt and infrastructure platform and its products. She subsequently took part, as Head of Legal, in the creation of La Francaise Investment Solutions, an innovative asset management company within the La Francaise group operating in start-up mode, later renamed LFIS Capital. She supported all stages of its development, from the launch and monitoring of its products through to its transition into an independent company.

With more than 25 years of experience in private practice and in-house, within leading legal and financial institutions, across the full range of financing transactions and asset classes, and driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, she founded JAB Avocats in 2024, a firm dedicated to clients in asset management and private capital.
